Windows Xp Repair Install Keyboard Mouse Not Working

I am able to use both at boot including keyboard at bios and mouse during the repair install until it gets to 34 minutes "Installing Devices". I know some of you say a little training will solve the challenges, and 99% of the time i'd agree with you, but this is the 1%. For what ever reason between 34 and 33 minutes the mouse and keyboard quit working and then the regional and language settings pop up.
