You are THE MAN! Having just read this we've now been able to install the OS succesfully. So I was able to complete windows installation, and then I ran that tool (had to install wireless drivers so i could connect to internet to run the tool). You could try it and see - but I believe you can't even install XP w/o a valid license key - so you can't get to the XP Desktop to run Characters such as "O" and "0" can be difficult to read, make sure it is a "O" and not a Zero that needs to be entered. If it works then you'll know that SP3 being slipstreamed into the installation is the problem. The machine has all network connectivity turned off. Usually there is no OEM media available. For customized or retail media, there is a small difference on each type of disc that will allow that installation disc to accept only one type of product key. - So Finally, this is during the installation of Windows XP.

The Service pack revisions shouldn't matter AFAIK (might as well slipstream SP3 and make an unattended installer with nLite IMO ) MS will probably charge you for a disc. Wales is a bit far to do it in person (although my sons have visited there) Nice when the penny drops, isn’t it :) Glad to hear it’s I called the mfr of the monitor first rather than the dealer and found out there was a two year warranty on it.
