You will not lose any data, just the OS files will be overwritten. You can fix this problem by registering a couple of system DLLs.If the Search Companion registration is broken, the Search window may be completely blank. It's almost as if teh executable for the function has disappeared. by R. This was a recent XP install (months) and I got a whole lot of updates all at once, but the search worked fine for quite a while until recently (weeks). we there yet?

My Computer Search Option Not Working Could u tell me the solution for accessing the user accounts. A Windows XP search problem that was quite common was the search window would pop up, but the user wouldn’t be able to type anything into the search. Panel 1 Panel 2 comes up when right clicking START>Open.

It doesn't even start up, from either of the two spots I use it.
