Your advice re regsvr32 dfrgsnap.dll and regsvr32 dfrgui.dll, plus dfrg.inf did the trick. YOU RULE!!!!! Double-click that entry and you'll find the scan's results there, click the third button on the right (this copies the info in the memory) then right-click => paste it here. i can now defrag.

if you have spybot it would of enabled it..... It help me a lot! This partial defragmentation is the default for "defrag", and it's the only way the GUI defragmenter in Vista works. I copied the one from the ServicePackFiles\i386 folder over, and restarted the Defragmenter, and it worked!
