The same trick did nothing on the other two machines. A number of search engine provided fixes did not work for me. The update will install successfully but you may notice that Windows Update will continue to loop while searching for updates. I've tried reformatting my drive & reinstalling XP. First thing you need to do is make sure your Automatic Updates is set to off.. Of course that is not on this computer.I will let you know how it turns out. I'll try to spend a bit of time on this site looking for problems I can help others with & not just come here when I need help myself. If you wait long enough, it will resolve itself.
