Windows 7 Updates Not Working Service Not Running

Error 0x8007277a: The requested service provider could not be loaded or initialized. This has been driving one of my customers nuts for the last two days. Laptop, Windows 7, 32 bit, turned of Defender, scanned for threats, turned on Windows Update ... I've been fighting this for three days, including hours and hours with MS Support, all to no avail. have a peek here

Windows Update Cannot Currently Check For Updates Because Updates On This Computer Are Controlled

After installation restart your computer and check for updates. (Applied to: Windows 7 SP1 & Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.) Restart your computer. Give it a try! I'm sure that switching it off this way and then choosing any option that enables windows updates would have had the same effect.

I clicked check for updates and was successful - several updates were ready to be downloaded and installed. I spent too many hours plowing through Microsoft Support website and none of their posted solutions would work.

Our forum is dedicated to helping you find support and solutions for any problems regarding your Windows 7 PC be it Dell, HP, Acer, Asus or a custom build. The service wuauserv is runing, the directory SoftwareDistribution is clean (only initial files and directories). Tried five other "fixes" which didn't solve anything.
