It is a config setting that isn't mapped in the GUI. I have enabled Windows authentication in IIS for the application and disabled all other (Anonymous, Basic, etc.,). The IIS site config has all authentication methods disabled except Windows Authentication. Windows authentication is not appropriate for use in an Internet environment, because that environment does not require or encrypt user credentials. Apparently IIS has a safety feature to prevent this. Extended Protection is Off.
