Windows 8 Settings Charm Not Working
Apparently the last updates fixed it. Note that Alt-Tab and thenholding Alt- shows both MUF and Desktop tasks AND (something that I have to keep reminding myself of) the items of the Alt-Tab Tasklist can be clicked I've looked at the tutorials here http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/4692-system-restore-how-do-windows-8-a.html and here ... I have tried all software fixes mentioned. Ive contracted microsoft twice recently via the chat service. Going to Task Manager, selecting Windows Explorer then RMB menu "Restart" solved the problem. So I did extensive research on this before I came here, and I looked into the recover, reinstall, refresh options.

They share NO drivers at all so I'm ruling them out. That didn't have the intended effect for me at least with a mouse. While customizing the display for myself after I got the computer, these are the things I changed: -Installed some programs like iTunes, GOM Player, Adobe Reader, Open Office -Changed PC's name Installation & Setup Folder View Settings - Back Up and Restore in WindowsHow to Back Up and Restore Your Folder View Settings in Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 Folder view But perhaps using either would be enough to free your pointer back into action?
