The problem server is 2k3R2, and has an uptime of over 150 days (!), so it's going to get rebooted and have CHKDSK run over the offending volume. Windows 7 and 8 logging is neat. Windows Vista went for an opt-in approach with the definition of the slow-link policy. Now, Windows 7 brings back the default threshold idea. weblink
