Windows 10 Explorer Search Not Working
I ran the problem solving wizard for search and indexing issues. For a folder and its content to be indexed, it must be configured with the System permission. I also did a system restore to first of month...but since I don't really know when this problem started I can't say that the restore point was early enough. Just read your post again.

I have successfully performed searches like this in Windows 7 all the time.
