I went into the control panel and unchecked Media Player and Media Services and restarted then re-checked WMP and then restarted presumably to load a whole new WMP; same result. Anyway, really thanks for your tips, in case I may use WMP. No trackbacks yet. Even if this workaround was effective, it seems pretty micky mouse considering that you have to manually remove all files, which could be comprehensive, then add them back in again to Windows Media Player Library Not Updating Tried using other music library managing programs; came down to windows being incapable. - I have used WMP for nearly 10 years, and with the exception of adding codecs for further use never had an issue.
- WMP version 12 that comes with Windows 8 has an option from the menus to fix some problems.
- Then Press Enter to open the Services window.
