Turns out of my AVI files was either corrupt or improperly encoded and Media Player kept trying to read it over and over again. his comment is here

I have a large mp3 collection shared on the network from another Windows box. Windows Media Player Library Not Updating

I manually use the tools to find artist and album information and they are renamed and reorganized. Why fix what ain't broke? The instructions were so simple to follow and it worked!! I have not renabled sharing yet but I hope it will work again.

I had originally set up wmp to look at my cloud drive, and it wouldn't look anywhere else, including music i added into the cloud drive. This was bugging the crap out of me, I spent over an hour looking for some type of answer and could not find anything. the last time I had this problem my computer rebooted after an update & it moved all my music from my users folder to my the all users folders, but this Windows Media Player Library Not Adding Files I got daring and just deleted the whole list of 31 items. I have tried from 3 machines (Win7 x64, Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 and Win7 x86) and they all do the same thing. For some reason they are not pointing to the library but directly to te same adress where the library was pointing (a mapped network drive that had been removed). Refresh Media Player Library Android I thought that was your goal, forgive me if it wasn't. To do this, highlight a folder by clicking on it and then click the Remove button.Finally when you're happy with the folder list, click the OK button to save.

The good news is that you can add more folders for Windows Media Player to keep an eye on. building the library took me clearly more then 20 minutes - my pc isn't even slow or anything and don't have all the file tags filled in or don't even use Windows Media Player Restore Media Library I found a website that provided a bunch of good info for the fix.
