i ended up plugging the keyboard directly into the back of my PC and moved my USB internet connection to one of the ports at the front of the Tower. Apparently, Logitech needs to update their SetPoint software to work with Windows 8. But I think I have fixed it. It is really a easy task in windows 7 to use the On-Screen Keyboard in Log in screen.

  9. Your system should have a spare power connector in it, but if the new drive does not come with a data cable, you may need to buy one.
