Windows 7 Folder Redirection Gpo Not Working


To make the desktop and other folder work correctly use the following: User Configuration > Preferences > Windows Settings > Registry Create a Desktop Item with the following settings applied: Hive Event Error 2 - The description for Event ID 0 from source gpudate cannot be found. I'm seeing an Access Denied on gpresult /h filename.html and I believe it's coming from the Computer and not the User.  I'm not sure where to check this. I have noticed that it can take 2 or so reboots for this policy to apply in some cases especially over a slow connection. We added those 2 and are waiting for the Users to come back to the office this morning and log on to see if that was the cause. Group Policy is not applied.

Offline folders are turned off, the only things in this users my docs is the My Pictures, My Music, defaults really. Users have mostly XP Pro machines and a few have Win 7. I highly recommend reading through the three parts of that guide.  It also makes the recommendation to setup Run Gpresult.exe in verbose mode.
